Halal Honeymoon In Santorini

Halal Honeymoon In Santorini

Santorini, one of my dream destinations of 2017 - and I was lucky enough to travel to the beautiful Santorini for my honeymoon at the end of last year. Yes, I got married *cue the wedding bells*. When we were deciding where to go for a couple of days, there was simply no contesting. Actually, we were toying between the Amalfi Coast (Positano amongst others) and Santorini. In the end, we chose to travel to Santorini for 4 night, 5 days and it really was the BEST decision I've ever made. Hotel First and foremost, we booked The Dream in Oia (Deluxe Villa with Jetted Outdoor Tub). We decided to stay in Oia as it is the picture perfect postcard destination for carved out houses in the cliffs with the typical cave houses of the villagers. For those who want to wake up to the pure white buildings with colourful roofs that are typical of Greek architecture, Oia is the place to stay! The Dream...

Only 24 Hours in Amsterdam?

Only 24 Hours in Amsterdam?

Travelling to Amsterdam was spontaneous. I mean spontaneous in the most spontaneous way possible. My good friend had recently quit her job she felt displeased in, with an position in a company she desired (kudos to her)! As a treat to herself, she booked a week in Amsterdam, staying at the Banks Mansion Hotel. As we were chatting a few days before she flew out, she asked if I wanted to come for a few days. Naturally I laughed it off. 72 hours later, I found myself at City Airport, waiting for my flight to Amsterdam. I booked a flight for one night, staying in Amsterdam for less than 24 hours. I figured, hey why not - you only live once *trying to justify my actions*. Before I met my friend, I visited the Aya Sofya mosque in Amsterdam to freshen up and also to check it out as photos online showed it to be incredible beautiful, located on the bank...

Exclusive Helicopter Tour Above Central London!

Exclusive Helicopter Tour Above Central London!

To celebrate my graduation (and marriage), my siblings surprised me with a HeliAir Helicopter fight over London (link here). They told me to keep that weekend available, so I knew they were planning something; a helicopter ride over London was the LAST thing on my mind. We were driving for over an hour towards the (for me) unknown destination. I was told to dress comfortable and warm. So I did. The weekend before, I purchased a hat and gloves - yes, I do not otherwise own these cumbersome items. Anyway, as we approached the helicopter base, I started to get clues and as we drove into the carpark it hit me! I was going to fly inside a helicopter. To cut a long story short, I was overwhelmed and couldn't believe the kindness of my siblings. We were first briefed by the pilot, told all the safety information and we were ready to go! We walked towards the field and there it was,...

My Dream Destinations 2018

My Dream Destinations 2018

Hello and HAPPY NEW YEAR 2018! I can not believe how quickly 2017 flew, I feel like it was just yesterday that I started this page, but in fact I starting blogging in 2015. Last year I published a list of my Dream Destinations of 2017. They were Greece, Australia, Portugal, Scotland, Italy, Spain, Thailand and Oman. I was fortunate enough to do a lot of travelling in 2017. 2017 took me to Greece (Santorini), Italy (Milan, Venice, Florence and Bologna), Netherlands (Amsterdam), Malta, France (Paris) and to a few cities in England. Again this year, I am compiling a list of my dream destinations of 2018 and hope that I can travel to them all this year! Ethiopia I shouldn't really be allowed to add Ethiopia on this list as I recently visited in the summer of 2016. Never the less, Ethiopia has repeatedly topped bucket-list holiday guides and has been voted the go-to place for travel last year. I usually go...

Top 7 Brunch Spots In London

Top 7 Brunch Spots In London

Brunching should be a new national sport, or maybe it's just a London thing? Gone are the days of celebrating a birthday or graduation over dinner, instead us millennials are opting for the late morning, early afternoon amalgamation of breakfast and lunch - brunch. Brunch isn't eaten at 8am, nor is it eaten at 4pm; it is more of a 11-1pm meal (although I have seen some restaurants with a brunch menu up to 4pm - shame on you). I must admit, I have entertained a fair number of brunch invites, and although sceptical at first, I now prefer to eat out for brunch over any other meal. London is particularly blessed in the brunch department, boasting a diverse number of resturants serving brunch some with bottomless beverages. Here I present my top 7 brunch spots that I hope tickle your taste buds by the end of this article! Happy brunching :)  1 : Clerkenwell Grind I visited Clerkenwell Grind (Barbican) a few months...

I Am In Venice, Italy

I Am In Venice, Italy

For day 2 of my Northern Italy adventures with my beloved sister, we decided to explore the beautiful Venezia. My expectations for Venice were exceedingly high, due to everyone speaking highly of Venice, and from all the research I had done online. Unfortunately, we just missed the Venice Carnival. It started on Saturday the 11th and we visited Venice on the 10th; but there were a few Carnival hints and preparation dotted around the city (it's going on right now, so anyone there do check it out)! We only had 8/9 hours in Venice, and so we planned a FULL day of activities. Venice Free Walking Tour I have a love hate relationship with walking tours. Sometimes they're AMAZING, and other times they're a waste of time and money. During my research before travelling, I stumbled across the Venice Free Walking Tour and thought that it looked pretty cool. Not only was it free, but it avoided the main tourist locations and instead delved...

I Am In Milan, Italy

I Am In Milan, Italy

My resolution for 2017 is to travel to new places, and what else but travel more have I been doing! I was able to free up 4 days at the end of the week, so decided to travel to the North of Italy. I came across £25 return flights to Milan so decided to go ahead and book them! I didn't want to stay in Milan for all 4 days, so took a look around the region and planned a 4 day adventure through 4 cities. The first is Milan. I then visited Venice, Florence, and Bologna - keep an eye out for further posts detailing my trip. I only had 4 hours in Milan, and so managed to squeeze in the main landmarks and sights within that time. There really isn't much to do/see in Milan, so a few hours is definitely enough to see everything. 1. Duomo di Milano (Milan Cathedral)  The Duomo is the fifth largest Christian church in the world. The cathedral...

Top 5 Halal Restaurants With Prayer Rooms in London

Top 5 Halal Restaurants With Prayer Rooms in London

When catching up with friends or colleagues, I usually choose a restaurant as our location of choice, as opposed to a café. I have been to quick stop resturants after a long day of shopping, and I have also been to resturants where my jacket is hung up for me and my napkin placed on my lap. I have compiled a list of Halal resturants in London that I love and have been to repeatedly (when I say repeatedly, I mean to the point where I'm friends with the waiter/waitresses and automatically sign in to the wifi, ha). Guanabana, Camden : Rating: 5/5 Guanabana is my favourite restaurant of them all! Located in Camden, and serving Latin and Caribbean dishes, Guanabana is a family-friendly rustic wooden cafe. The menu is completely halal, and also does not serve alcohol (BYO only). The atmosphere is amazing, featuring classic songs that I just sing along to as I eat (and talk). There is also a reasonably spacious prayer...

Love London Card 2017 – Is It Worth It?

Love London Card 2017 – Is It Worth It?

Love London cards are available from Monday 16th for just £20.17! They allow unlimited access to The Shard for the whole of 2017. Is it worth it you may ask? Last year, I bought one a few days after they were sold out and restocked (surprise, surprise, I bought it for £20.16). The normal entry price for an adult is £25.95 in advance and £30.95 on the day, making the Love London card worth it even if you only go up once. I went up The Shard about 4 times in the year, making each visit worth about £5. The nice thing about having unlimited access is just that - as an avid photographer, I was able to view London in different seasons and times of the day. I was able to capture London shrouded by a beautiful Autumn sunset; I was also able to capture London through the raindrops covering the looking glass of The Shard. It can get quite cold...

My Dream Destinations 2017

My Dream Destinations 2017

I'm not huge on New Years Resolutions, but one thing I definitely think about is where I would *love* to travel to in the coming year. Here is my list of the countries (and cities) that I would love to be able to visit during 2017. At the end of 2017, let's see how many countries I managed to step foot into. I have a few months of student life flexibility left and really want to maximise on the opportunity of travelling (whilst writing my thesis of course)!  -Greece- Anyone who knows me knows how much I've been banging on about Santorini ever since a friend visited two years ago. After seeing all her photos and her raving positive reviews, I did some research and came to the conclusion that Santorini is my next go to. Santorini is an island featuring the infamous whitewashed cubiform houses. Not only is Santorini breathtakingly gorgeous, it also hold a deep history based on its formation from...
