4 Italian Cities in 4 Days

4 Italian Cities in 4 Days

Recently, many people have asked me how I planned my 4 cities in 4 days trip around Northern Italy. I used to be the kind of person who travelled to one city and spent the whole trip in the one city - but lately, my holidays are rarely limited to one city. Thing is, some cities/towns really don't need more than one day to explore completely, and would be a wasted trip if one stayed there for a number of days. I do admit, however, that Venice and Florence definitely warrant a return trip for a couple of days! I feel like it was a bit rushed and would love to return for a more relaxed visit. In this post, i'll share a few tips for deciding where to go and how to plan a multi-city trip, like mine! Choose a region that you want to travel to Stick to a specific area; let's say, the North of Italy only, or the South of...

I am at the Seven Sisters White Cliffs

I am at the Seven Sisters White Cliffs

As an annual retreat, my lab group embark on long walks outside of London. This year, we decided to walk along the Seven White Cliffs in Sussex. The Cliffs are situated in the Seven Sister County Park, a short bus journey away from Brighton Beach. We took a train from London King's X to Brighton, and then a bus journey of over an hour. Although the journey was tiresome to say the least, it was exciting once we arrived at the Park and started to follow the walking trail up and down each cliff. The cliffs are made of white chalk, and are naturally unstable. After walking for a while, we took a pit stop to have a picnic for lunch. We had all planned to bring some home-cooked food for lunch; we ended up with an overwhelming selection of food the corners of each continent around the world. At the end of the final cliff, we reached a platform where we went down...

I am at Lake District, Windemere

I am at Lake District, Windemere

Continuing on from my last blog from York, I also visited the Lake District. I did plan on a whole day there but unfortunately the planned day was wet and miserable. Instead, I visited on the following day and managed to roam about for a couple of hours. I have visited the Lake District once before. The Lake District is a beautiful wonder of the UK and I do feel at peace when I visit. At first, we drove to Windemere and walked around for a bit before grabbing some lunch. As I only had two hours before having to return to London, I could not explore as much as I wanted to. Below are some photos that were taken that morning. I hope to revisit the Lake District this summer and hopefully I'll be able to explore properly in the summer heat. Have you ever visited the Lake District? Are there and specific areas that you would particularly recommend? - A Y...
